Cherry Blossum

Toes

Lower than shoes can travel

Feeling dirt

Not as filth but a gritty connection

To their Mother

Feet

Firm, immobile, but never impatient

Immune to sore joints

Stand ground against windstorm

Or days of worthless drought

Legs

With etched muscles, rough and detailed

Carry all gifts

Of both generous and robbing seasons

Grateful for every weight burden

Arms

Outstretched to feel their supplier within them

Triumphant, lifting

Proud to support hands flesh

Feet of feline or feathered home-seekers

Fingers

Crooked and nimble

But colored in fluorescent pride

Of pinks and whites in brilliant shade

To fall away with the rain
