We feel the ferry rocking
as guest inside start dancing
The bass we hear as background noise,
keeps time with motors running
The mid-deck’s mostly stranded,
Aside from couples swaying.
They speckle wooden starboard planks
like ants who’ve started drifting.
Against the rail, our shoulders touching
with eyes towards bright lights, swimming.
Ignore the shivers , no voices ringing
but wind and water singing.
